Hele’s Educational Trust can provide grants to maintained and academised schools within the city of Exeter for specialised equipment and improvement of facilities not normally provided by the local authority and to give grants for educational purposes to individuals under 25 who attend or have attended a maintained school in Exeter or Exeter college. One application per school/individual per financial year will be considered.
Over the years the Trustees have decided that in order to direct funds where most needed certain categories of applications be excluded except in the most exceptional circumstances. These are reviewed from time to time; at present the excluded categories are:
- Higher Education
- Gap Years
- Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Schemes
- Attending courses or carrying out work for Charities in the UK or abroad
- Foreign Trips
- Provision of School Transport
- Provision of School Uniform and Physical Adaptation to applicants properties
- Payments of salaries/honorariums/wages
- Ongoing costs
Grants that have been successful have included:
- Improvement of outdoor spaces
- Purchase of library books and additional resources
- Musical instruments to support musical education
- Supplementary IT equipment
- Supplementary support for SEND/EAL/PP/FSM pupils
- Support for schools trips for children on FSM
If you are successful in getting funding for your project, you will be asked to submit a report six months later. If your project has not been completed within six months, you will need to complete an additional report once complete.
